Third IS Lesson : HTML (Oops, late! Sorry!)

This is a late post.

On the third IS lesson Mr Cheong introduced us to Hyper Text Markup Language, or in short, HTML. This is in general, the basic code to make webpages. The code you type into a programme called Wordpad amazingly gets processed into webpages! Of course you need to publish it on the Web in order for everyone to see it.

There are many tags to webpages. The most basic one would be (html) and (/html) which indicates that the file is HTML. If you do NOT include this then there is no webpage at all!!

(head) and (/head) tags are of course, the head. Here, you enter the (title) and (/title) tags which is what your webpage will be called.

The (body) and (/body) tags are the main part of your webpage.

There are many many more tags used in HTML. Like for instance, what is (p) and (/p)? They stand for paragraphing. What about (hr)? It is the horizontal rule.

(/html)

NOTE THAT THESE BRACKETS ( ) HAVE BEEN REPLACED TO AVOID THE THING PUBLISHING LIKE HTML. USE THESE <<<<<>>>>> BRACKETS.

One thing I noticed about HTML is that it is very BORING. There is only one font, Times New Roman. The background is also only white. I am wondering how to make the webpage much nicer, like those you see on the Internet......
